We are currently looking for a Sr. Project Manager - Midstream/Downstream Facilities to join our facilities team in Quarry Park. The successful candidate will manage client projects in an effective manner, ensuring client satisfaction and completing project deliverables on schedule and budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects while providing technical direction and execution of facilities engineering scope for assigned projects including liquid pump stations, LACT facilities & meter stations, tank terminals, gas compressor stations, etc.
  • Coordinate third party project services
  • Review project specific designs (stamping by design engineers)
  • Monitor project controls and associated reporting
  • Completing all project deliverables on schedule and on budget
  • Project set-up and close out as appropriate
  • Direct (on a project level) engineering disciplines who provide support to the projects
  • Implement corporate procedures and quality and safety standards
  • Client interaction and management
  • Project budgeting, quotations and proposals
  • Schedule development, tracking and maintenance
  • Provide project management (and some technical) mentoring to junior personnel
  • Support project management systems for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate responses to field construction queries
  • Resource planning and forecasts for project execution
  • Managing non-chargeable time (self and administrative reports)
  • Provide Division Director with project status updates as well as budgetary information, backlog forecasts and remediation plans where necessary
  • Participate on Facilities Management Team
  • Provide support to Facilities Division Director
  • Assist in furthering and executing client business development plan; pursue opportunities with appropriate assistance
  • Monitor and ensure client satisfaction, thus maximizing business opportunities from known clients
  • Network with industry, attend meetings and seminars, etc., to ensure all business opportunities are identified and addressed
  • Prepare proposals and associated engineering budgets as requested

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years of facilities design and construction experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting engineering experience
  • Engineering degree (or higher) is preferred
  • Professional engineering designation in at least one Canadian province would be an asset
  • Experience in a lead technical role for the establishment of design specification and the procurement of facilities equipment
  • Familiar with CSA Z662 and ASME B31.3 and 31.8 codes
  • Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment such as mainline gas compressors and liquid pumps
  • Supervision of 5-10 engineering staff on a project basis
  • Lead facilities role in projects with a variety of capital expenditures
  • Development of proposals
  • Strong prior business development contacts
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Desire to work on a variety of types of projects
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Strong mentoring skills and desire to encourage junior staff
  • Excellent organizational skills
