Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . Responsibilities:

Our Winnipeg, MB office has an immediate opening for an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented senior environmental professional to join our Environmental Services Team as a Senior Project Manager. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and will be responsible for leading environmental projects including environmental site assessment and remediation (ESAR) projects, environmental impact assessments (EA) and/or environmental permitting for a variety of clients.  He/she will also be responsible for proposal and report writing/senior review and presentations.

 

The Senior Project Manager will be involved in managing a variety of small to large sized projects in the commercial, agriculture, industrial, oil and gas, mining, and/or power sectors. The individual will be expected to ensure that health and safety requirements and quality assurance and quality control standards are met. ESAR and EA experience and knowledge of the regulatory framework and components of each is key to this position.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with and/or lead proposal development, including the development of work plans and budgets
  • Client management
  • Project Management
  • Providing direction on technical work programs
  • Senior review of technical reports
  • Participate in training programs for our technical team
  • Mentor and coach junior and intermediate professionals
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following: 

  • Post-graduate degree, or a B.Sc. with strong relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably in the environmental consulting industry
  • Professional Designation considered an asset
  • Knowledge of current industry related codes of practice and regulations (both provincial and federal) is required
  • Demonstrated experience managing ESAR and EIA/EA projects for clients in the Oil and Gas, Power and/or Commercial Sectors
  • Leadership skills and willingness to coach and mentor staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent report reviewing and editing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Experience managing Emergency Spill Response Projects would be an added asset.
