Responsibilities:

Our Edmonton, Alberta office is seeking a results oriented Team Lead, Geotechnical Engineering candidate who will bring their leadership and business development skills /interest into an already successful, well established but growing group.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Geotechnical Practice Leadership with the implementation of quality, health & safety, technical and client driven initiatives
  • Planning and coordination of the local geotechnical workload
  • Actively participate in business development and client management initiatives
  • Mentoring junior and intermediate staff
  • Project management of geotechnical investigations and construction inspection projects
  • Provide technical expertise in geotechnical engineering
  • Preparation of technical reports and proposals
  • Budget tracking and reporting
  • Active participation in local CGS Chapter
Qualifications:

Interested candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering from a recognized university
  • Minimum 10 years experience in consulting geotechnical engineering and project management such as site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability and on-site review of construction activities is required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 5 years related experience in Western Canada
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and problem solving ability is essential in your work with team members and clients alike; must have a team oriented approach to your work
  • Strong commitment to client service and work safety
  • Client management skills and business development ability or interest is essential
  • Professional Engineer in good standing with APEGA, or the ability to obtain the professional designation
