This position is for junior-level civil/environmental engineer with between 2 and 4 years of relevant exprience. Candidate will be responsible for a variety of field and office-related tasks. Field tasks may include logging of soil borings and test pits, monitoring well installations, soil sampling, geotechnical borings, groundwater sampling, and the supervision of subcontractors (drilling, surveying, remediation, geophysical, etc.). Candidate will assist in the preparation and implementation of health & safety plans, field sampling plans and remedial action plans, erosion and sediment control plans, NPDES permits and assocaited post-construction stormwatwer management plans. Office-related tasks will include assisting with data reduction, data tabulation, data evaluation, design support and report preparation. Work to include Superfund and State site remediation deisign, industrial wastewater treatment evlauation and design, operation and maintenance, and land development associated with industrial and utility industry activity associated design, reporting and permitting. May assist project managers with specific tasks in designing, planning, permitting and estimating costs of projects.The position will require supporting field projects primarily in the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, but travel to other states may be required periodically.
The candidate should have a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering, with a preference for a Masters degree. The candidate will have between 2 and 4 years of professional experience in environmental consulting. The candidate will have a valid US drivers license and will be proficient in commonly used software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.). Experience with commercially available software for data analysis a plus (e.g., aquifer test, fate and transport models).
The successful candidate will have good skills related verbal and written communication, organization and will be detailed oriented. The candidate must demonatrate a positive attitude and willinginess to work as part of a team.
