Responsibilities: Stantec is seeking a Senior/Lead Architect or Engineer to manage our Iqaluit office. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to develop and advance their career in a dynamic, world class consulting firm.
Duties would include overseeing Stantec’s professional practice in Nunavut, business development with Nunavut clients, being responsible for overall project management of Stantec projects in the eastern Arctic, and the day-to-day general operations of the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, some experience with general administration and a practical knowledge of construction. Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of Iqaluit and a commitment to the community. A knowledge of Federal, Territorial and Municipal governmental procedures would be an asset. An understanding of Nunavut’s particular challenges and experience in the following area are positive assets: - Cost control - Risk Management - Materials procurement - Energy efficiency - Sustainable design
A graduate Engineer or Architect is preferable with five years of experience in the North or similar location. Eligibility for registration with the Northwest Territories Association of Architects is preferred.
