We provide career opportunities as unique as you are. We are currently looking for a Sr. Cost Estimator to join our Oil & Gas group in Quarry Park. Responsibilities: - Create cost estimates in standard formats utilizing an agreed upon WBS/Code of Accounts and in accordance with AACi principles
- Present and defend cost estimates to Stantec senior managment and to clients
- Update our database and systems with feedback from completed projects
- Create Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule documents to accompany the cost estimate
- Provide technical leadership to staff including liaison with 3rd party cost estimating companies
- Develop parametrics for estimate benchmarking and for developing Class 5 and unclassified cost estimates
- Gather industry Total Installed Cost information on projects to validate estimates
- Training for cost estimating staff and discipline engineers
- Assist with coordination of work for Cost Estimators or assigned discipline engineers including with the project managers
- Update documentation including workflow diagrams, Cost Estimating procedures and work instructions
- Work with the Quality Department to ensure processes meet company quality requirements
- Work with the IT team to support and maintain Cost Estimating software. Liaise with technical support staff of software vendors
- Work with various project teams to facilitate using Cost Estimating tools and processes to produce accurate, repeatable cost estimates
- Ensures all work is performed and completed in a safe manner
- Prepare and present cost estimate sections of proposals to clients
