An opportunity exists for a Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager to become part of a dynamic structural/facilities group in our Industrial team. The successful candidate will provide structural design, technical leadership, management of projects either as part of a project team or independently, and could support strategic growth objectives through proactive business development and diversification of services. Specific duties include: project lay-out; overseeing design; coordinating with other disciplines and controlling project budgets; audits; training and mentoring of staff; preparing schedules, estimates, complete designs and administrative functions; and ensuring that client needs are met to result in repeat business. Business development and proposal creation along with client management is also available for suitable candidates.


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Thorough understanding of the design of industrial structures, obtained through a minimum of 10 years of post-graduation experience in a design or project management position.
  • Experience in relevant areas including design of industrial buildings, cranes and machine supports, cement and aggregates plants, mining projects, as well as environmental and transportation structures will be considered an asset.
  • You are registered as a Professional Engineer within the Province of Ontario and possess extensive knowledge of all relevant codes and standards.
  • Strong leadership qualities, time management, project management, communication and team building skills are an asset for you to meet the demands of this challenging position.
  • Well-established relationships within the local industrial and manufacturing sectors along with business development skills would be considered an asset.
