Stantec has an opportunity for a Project Engineer in our Tucson, Arizona office. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be the lead design professional on each land development project. The ideal candidate will be able to understand and direct all aspects of the project development and design process.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist project manager / project principal with client, consultant, and project team coordination on projects.
  • Perform and oversee all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, drainage, horizontal control, signage & striping plans, etc.)
  • Responsible for coordinating, QA/QC review of construction documents and technical reports.
  • Prepare Engineers Opinion of Probably Cost.
  • Prepare Technical Specifications and Special Provisions.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred 8-10 years of professional engineering experience on land development (infrastructure, residential, or site work) projects. The projects should cover multiple areas including engineering planning, design, writing specifications and permitting.
  • Experience dealing with public agencies in their review and approval processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and drainage software required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office software (word, excel) and Microsoft outlook.
  • Good organization, coordination, and managerial skills necessary to maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Good technical writing skills; capable of writing reports, letters and technical specifications.
  • Good verbal communication skills and "people" skills
  • Arizona PE required or be able to obtain registration within one year.
  • Tuscon area experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
