Our Calgary Office has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer- Intermediate/Senior in our Power Group.

Responsibilities:

Your interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills enable you to exceed client expectations in a dynamic and diversified team environment. An ability to establish positive working relationships goes hand-in-hand with your commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where service and individual excellence are paramount. A self-starter, you are able to resolve engineering design issues as well as develop project scope documents, reports, estimates and project proposals.

You have proven experience in all phases of electrical design on Electrical Distribution projects. Applicants with experience in electrical utilities and/or consulting in high voltage engineering will be given preference. You will need the ability to lead the project work and to interface effectively with other disciplines to complete the work on-time and on-budget.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in high voltage Distribution design - typically up to 35KV
  • Registered or eligible for registration with The Association of Professional Engineers, and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Thorough understanding of electrical Distribution design standards
  • Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office products and power systems modeling software such as CYME, PLS Pole, ETAP
  • Familiarity with high voltage equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and instrument transformers etc.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous supervisor experience is an asset
