Stantec's Dartmouth office is currently looking for an Senior Electrical Engineer. This individual will be an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with a strong attention to detail. This is a dynamic work environment where you will play a pivotal role in a diverse range of projects, from initial planning to design to construction.

This position is of interest to self-directed individuals with 8+ years of experience. The individual will be expected to work independently on electrical design as an integrated member of an interdisciplinary design team. Responsibilities include the design of electrical systems including power distribution, generators, lighting, structured data cabling, fire alarm, communications, security, energy management and mechanical equipment control design for commercial, industrial, institutional, public and private facilities.


Requirements include:

  • The successful candidate must possess an Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university and be eligible for full registration with Engineers Nova Scotia (APENS).
  • Minimum of 8 years of electrical design experience including power, lighting, and telecommunications and security systems.
  • Solid understanding of the application of the Canadian Electrical Code in engineering designs.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with team members and clients.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Green technology knowledge, LEED certified professional is considered an asset.
  • Experience creating tender document packages, including detailed drawings and specifications is considered an asset.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office will be beneficial in this role.
  • Experience in project management and in preparing proposals is a definite asset.
