Overview: Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Responsibilities: An opportunity exists for a highly organized CAD Technologist/Technician, with related experience, to become part of our dynamic team. Responsibilities will include: - Participate in design and preparation of engineering drawings using the appropriate internal and external standards
- Provide design and CAD assistance to engineering staff for roadway and railway design, site grading and drainage utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Preparing plan, section, detail, schematic and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Performing Engineering calculations
- Create new drawings and transfer mark-up
- Create 3D AutoCad details
- Create a topographic surface and calculate quantities
- Coordination of project drawings with Project Managers, CAD staff and others
- Ensuring that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess: - Preferably a diploma in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology or a Civil Technologist or Civil Technician diploma
- A minimum of 3 to 10 years’ proficient experience in computer aided drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Strong communication skills
- A willingness to work in a team atmosphere
- Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
- Imagination and enthusiasm in their work and willingness to add value to projects where possible
