Position Summary: 

The Coordinator, Finance & Budgeting, RA-Cert will be responsible for providing support to the Manager, Finance & Budgeting, RA-Cert, by generating and analyzing financial reports, supporting the development of program budgets and assisting in the preparation and monitoring of contracts and other agreements.  S/he will work under the supervision of the Manager, Finance & Budgeting, RA-Cert, and will coordinate closely with the RA-Cert Regional Managers and staff to provide financial and contractual support.

  • Support the monitoring and analysis of program revenues and expenses;
  • Assist in the distribution of monthly financial reports to RA-Cert Management;
  • Run query reports using Rainforest Alliance financial tools and produce charts and other graphics from query data;
  • Provide follow-up for staff regarding accounts payable inquiries;
  • Provide follow-up for staff regarding accounts receivable inquiries;
  • Support the generation of monitoring and evaluation statistics reports; 
  • Assist with program budgeting processes;
  • Respond to user questions regarding access to and use of timecard and expense reporting and provide user training to new staff;
  • Code payment and invoice vouchers, create journal entries, and assist with General Ledger account code maintenance;
  • Provide support and training to RA-Cert staff in the use of financial and data management software; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or related field;
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing financial and/or information systems assistance;
  • Excellent computer skills (proficiency in Excel a must);
  • Ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff;
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, ability to assess priorities and multi-task with strong attention to detail;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of legal aspects regarding contracts preferred; and
  • Spanish language skills a plus.
