Overview: Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in regulatory permitting, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries and marine biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, GIS, and Information Management. We help our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and challenges within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of emerging regulatory issues that may include endangered species assessments, habitat compensation and ecological offsets, wetland characterizations, and water resources management. Stantec’s Calgary office is currently seeking Senior Environmental and Regulatory Specialists to provide technical support and strategic direction on large scale oil sands projects. This position will be part of Stantec’s Environmental Services team, and candidates will have the ability to demonstrate their full technical competence in environmental support services associated with exploration, approval, production, upgrading, remediation, reclamation, monitoring and construction management activities of in situ and mining projects within the oil sands region of Alberta .
