Position Overview As a green building consultant, you will prospect for and engage new home builders and remodelers to certify homes to the Earth Advantage® Home Certification and Earth Advantage® Remodel program standards. Green building consultants ensure that sales goals for both programs are met while maintaining the very highest customer satisfaction levels. Key attributes for a successful green building consultant will be to educate builders, architects and owners about the features, advantages, and benefits of the equipment, materials, and construction/installation techniques promoted in Earth Advantage, Northwest ENERGY STAR®, and LEED® for Homes™ programs’ operations, technical specifications, and guidelines, including energy efficient and environmental measures to ensure the respective program standards are maintained for the purpose of successfully managing their homes enrolled in these programs. Additionally, the green building consultant will explain to builders Energy Trust of Oregon’s New Homes program requirements, incentive structure, and paperwork submission processes. Providing sales training to builders’ sales staff and their key REALTORs is required, as are community outreach events. Being a key resource and trusted advisor who can speak to the latest developments and requirements of all of our residential programs and services, and those of our trade allies, is paramount. Finally, the green building consultant will be managing a number of different types of accounts, ranging from new home builders to remodelers to Independent Raters, which are independent contractors with the training and credentials to deliver Earth Advantage Home Certification in remote markets. The central philosophy in all interactions is to deliver superior customer service externally, while adhering to continual process improvement and a culture of innovation internally.
