Responsibilities:

We have an opportunity in our Calgary office for a Construction Administrator.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage the review inspections of the mechanical installation throughout the project construction processes.
  • Review projects at the design phase for constructability.
  • Attend and chair construction coordination meetings.
  • Write meeting minutes.
  • Issue change orders, site instruction and answering request for information.
  • Review and approve contractor certifications.
  • Keep the client informed of the project progress and provides information in a way the client can understand.
  • Direct the contractors in the installation of systems.

Qualifications:

As the ideal candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Graduate of Mechanical Engineering Technologist Technician (Diploma) program, Inter-provincial (Red Seal) Refrigeration / Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (or suitable other building engineering mechanical trades) certification; electronic (DDC) building control system general and system specific training and demonstrable abilities.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in mechanical system installation or supervision.
  • Good knowledge of codes and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized.
  • Proactive in communicating with clients.
  • Good knowledge of MsWord, MsExcel, MsOutlook and AutoCAD.
  • Current and typically insurable vehicle operator’s license: ability to operate company vehicles with certification and training as necessary.
  • Knows and practices good safety habits, including knowledge of important MSDS, equipment safety, tool safety, ladder safety, and crane signals/safety guidelines; first aid trained and willing to be CPR-recertified.
