Responsibilities: This position is for an entry level environmental scientist. Candidate will be responsible for a variety of field and office-related tasks. Candidate's work will focus initially on field surveys to support environmental due diligence for linear construction projects in New Jersey. Other responsibilities will include support related to regulatory compliance audits and permit preparation, support related to field sampling projects (soil vapor, soil, groundwater, surface water), assistance with ecological and/or wetlands surveys and oversight of subcontractors during environmental site investigations. Office-related tasks will include assisting with data reduction, data tabulation, data evaluation and report preparation. The position will require supporting projects primarily in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, but travel to other states may be required periodically. Qualifications:The candidate should have a bachelor of arts (B.A.) or bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in the environmental sciences. The candidate will have between 0 and 3 years of professional experience in environmental consulting. The candidate will have a valid US drivers license and will be proficient in commonly used software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.). Having existing 40 hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
The successful candidate will have good skills related to verbal and written communication, organization and will be detailed oriented. Ability to be flexible in the ever changing project environment. The candidate must demonatrate a positive attitude and willinginess to work as part of a team or in the field individually. The candidate must be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors. |
