Responsibilities:

An immediate opportunity exists for an Project Manager on our Urban Development team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of commercial retail projects across Canada, as well as residential, institutional, and municipal projects primarily in the Greater Toronto Area, varying in status from concept through to construction. You will be the prime contact on your projects with the client, approval agencies and others and you will use your technical and leadership abilities to lead a project team of designers and others.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing work programs, proposals and fee estimates for projects.
  • Guiding projects through to completion, whether it be due diligence/feasibility work, preliminary/conceptual civil engineering design, detailed civil design, scheduling, tendering and construction.
  • Directing staff and participating directly in the completion of projects.
  • Liaising with clients, agencies and others to obtain approvals.
  • Ensuring that the clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Managing the financial aspects of your projects.
Qualifications:
  • You possess a thorough understanding of civil engineering design, obtained through a minimum 5 years experience in land development engineering.
  • You are registered as a P. Eng or are a CET and eligible for a Limited License in the field of land development in the Province of Ontario.
  • Your extensive knowledge with site plans, grading plans and servicing plans is considered an asset.
  • Your business development, strong leadership, time management, communication and team building skills are essential for you to meet the expectations of this challenging position.
  • Ideally, you are also a self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and are able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Your ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to manage projects and clients is essential.
