Responsibilities:

Performs basic to intermediate level professional engineering duties for municipal projects that require the application of concepts and principles of professional engineering, such as inspecting projects, developing plans and drawings, and communicating with contractors, customers, citizens, and regulators. Duties may include:

  • Observe project sites for compliance with regulations and standard or routine contract and plan specifications and regulations
  • Effectively and accurately convey project status or problems to supervisor and team members
  • Review, tabulate and interpret field and laboratory data
  • Participate in the development of simple to moderate work scopes and budgets with input from supervisors
  • Develop CAD plans, drawings, reports and design requirements
  • Prepare sections of documents using standard text and, to a limited extent, compose original text
  • Complete tasks within budget and deadline
  • Develop positive relationships with co-workers, clients, citizens, regulatory agencies and subcontractors through tactful and effective communication
Qualifications:

4 year degree in Civil Engineering; 2-5 years of experience, preferably working on municipal engineering projects. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or PE is preferred .
