Job Description:  Overview:

Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Responsibilities:

The candidate will apply their proven skills in project managing, primarily in the oil and gas sector. Stantec will mentor the right candidate.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that project deliverables satisfy project and clients requirements
  • Determine, monitor and review costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for project teams
  • Manage and enhance project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities
  • Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria
  • Clearly demonstrate sound business acumen in managing an existing client base and have the necessary skills to build relationships and promotes repeat business
  • Has a sound understanding of civil design and will be able to confidently work with the design team to ensure deliverables meet the clients expectations
Qualifications:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess the following qualifications and background:

  • An Engineering, CET, Business Management or Construction Management degree (or related discipline)
  • Have a professional engineering designation and/or PMP, combined with a minimum of 4 years' experience that demonstrates increasing project management responsibilities in Design and/or Construction
  • Be familiar with all commonly used project delivery models and have a sound understanding of contract law, scheduling techniques, budget development and risk management
  • Must have strong leadership, negotiation, communication and customer relationship skills
  • Possess demonstrated experience in managing projects in excess of $10 million in capital value will be considered an asset
