Responsibilities:

Our Red Deer Planning and Landscape Architecture group is seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect.

This is a significant opportunity to help lead the growth of our planning and landscape architecture practice in Red Deer.

We are looking for someone who is up for the challenge and has the business development know how.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Business development, client relations, design concept development, design development,

• Preparation and/or administration of the completion of contract documents

• Costs estimates, correspondence, administration of construction services

• Project management and staff supervision and mentoring.

• Leading the pursuit of urban projects for both public and private sector clients.

Some of these projects would include urban parks, transit oriented development, advanced education space design and planning, context sensitive design for streets, and significant high-profile design projects.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional landscape architecture experience with a diverse portfolio.
  • Professional registration as a Landscape Architect in Alberta
  • The desire and drive to play a lead role in growing the Planning and Landscape Architecture practice
  • Proven business development skills
  • Highly skilled in proposal development, project management and public presentation.
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience within, the Edmonton and Alberta market
  • Strong design and project management skills
  • Excellent financial management skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines
  • Experience with Edmonton and Alberta public agency standards, specifications and estimating protocols
  • Experience with a formalized QA/QC program
  • Demonstrated graphics skills that are expressive in both sketch and finished formats
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills that allow you to effectively interact professionally with clients, approval authorities and the public
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff in technical execution of complex work
