Overview: Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and pro-actively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include providing health & safety and industrial hygiene consulting services for a variety of projects and clients (including industrial/manufacturing companies). Candidates will work with clients to develop and maintain OSHA-compliant health & safety programs, and should be capable of auditing and assessing such programs. In addition, candidate should be comfortable providing various safety training. Candidate must be willing to travel independently for field studies (e.g. air and noise monitoring, safety evaluations, etc.) at various locations throughout the United States. The amount of travel will vary monthly but will range from 25% to 50% of the time, some of which will be local and thus require driving (no airline travel) only. This position will be mentored by Stantec Senior Industrial Hygienists and safety specialists. Depending on individual’s background and interest, employee will also have opportunity to learn and become involved with environmental and industrial compliance projects, involving but not limited to air, water, and waste permitting and reporting. Additional responsibilities may also include project management, business development, staff mentoring, and QA/QC. Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should have a bachelor's degree in a Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related curriculum, although a degree in one of the Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) with a curriculum emphasis on Chemistry or Biology will also be considered. Three or more years applied work experience in performing consulting, monitoring and/or assessment of regulatory health & safety is a plus. Successful candidates should demonstrate existing knowledge in one or more of the following fields:

Must be able to work as a member of a team as well as independently and receive guidance and training form senior Stantec employees. Must have an extremely high level of detail in the scope of work to be performed. Must be willing to travel independently. Must be able to effectively communicate orally with clients and have strong written skills as written reports or letters are required for most client projects. |
