We have an immediate opportunity in our Red Deer office for a Project Coordinator - Water

Responsibilities:

Stantec's Red Deer office is currently seeking a Project Coordinator within our Water group. The successful candidate will work with our Project Managers to:

  • Create project plans
  • Monitor and control project scope
  • Coordinate the information needed to ensure timely execution of projects
  • Advise team on project schedules and implementation of each project phase
  • Forecast and plan project performance
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Maintain all aspects of project document control including filing systems and retrieval of information
  • Coordinate all aspects of project cost control and tracking of project cost information
  • Create project safety forms, collect and maintain project team safety records and obtain appropriate signatures.
Qualifications:
  • A university degree or technical diploma
  • Must have Engineering Consulting experience
  • Must be an excellent communicator (verbal and written), directive, and assertive, yet have a collaborative approach with people (multi-disciplinary team members, consultants, clients)
  • High level of initiative required
  • Strong writing skills are necessary, including proofreading, editing and typing accuracy for preparation of documentation and proposals, etc.
  • 3-5+ years of progressively responsible experience in administrative and management related roles; Engineering or consulting experience is an asset
  • Experience in the project development process, approvals, planning and scheduling, estimating, cost control, document management are an asset
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite; experience with a project management software such as MS Excel, MS Project and/or Prolog preferred
  • Willingness to pursue the CAPM certification offered through PMI (Project Management Institute).
