Summary

LodgingSavers is a program serving the hospitality market throughout PG&E’s electric service territory. The program provides comprehensive lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and pool retrofit measures. 
We are looking for support in lead generation and assistance in the sales of projects. The Marketing and Sales Specialist will work in the field, visiting customers to present and sell proposals for energy efficiency upgrades, as well as from a desk for data entry, lead generation, and project management activities. 

Duties: Responsibilities

Lead Generation
• Approach and build relationships with prospective business participants
• Cold calls
• Coordination with PG&E Service and Sales team for strategic outreach 
• Work with product vendors/distributors to identify potential customers
• Identify new contractors to assist with existing/new projects
• Identify Energy Star/DLC approved LED manufacturers/vendors to assist in their project sales
• Identification of corporate hospitality decision makers and engineers to stress the volatility of the lighting incentive market with regards to upcoming changes in codes and standards 
Sales 
• Develop, implement and track a sales plan 
• Identify key decision makers
• Support customers through decision making process
• Identify and develop ROI metrics which appeal to customers’ decision making process
• Work with Program’s Energy Efficiency Specialists and customer to modify proposals to fit customers’ needs
• Identify and present financing mechanisms for eligible customers

Qualifications:


Required Skills

The Marketing and Sales Specialist must have demonstrable experience in the following:

• Customer facing sales or marketing
• Superb time management and organization
• Accuracy with reporting analysis and ability for strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in Salesforce.com or similar CRM software
• Ability to acquire and use technical information accurately in the field
• Ability to excel in a commissioned sales environment
• Ability to adapt work style and approach to evolving market conditions
• Computer proficiency 
• Excellent oral communication and presentation skills

Desired Skills
• Electrical contracting, maintenance or equivalent field
• Understanding of various technologies used in energy efficiency upgrades

Education/Training
• BA/BS or five years experience in a professional setting

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and hear, and use a computer keyboard and monitor. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The successful employee must also be able to climb stairs or ladders occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work Environment

Generally, the work environment will be split between working in the field and working from home office. The Marketing and Sales Specialist will need to come to Ecology Action’s Santa Cruz headquarters on a semi-weekly basis. A personal vehicle is required and mileage will be reimbursed as per federal guidelines.

Compensation

The compensation for this position consists of a base salary of $35,000 to $56,000 annually and an additional monthly incentive compensation based on kilowatt hours saved. This monthly incentive compensation is targeted at $15,000 per year with no cap. In addition to cash compensation, Ecology Action offers a generous benefit package that includes flexible health benefits provided through a cafeteria plan and a 401k retirement plan with immediate vesting of the 4% employer contribution.
