CNT Energy seeks an experienced Research Analyst to join a small team responsible for implementing CNT Energy’s research programs and projects. The Research Analyst will contribute to research design, data selection, methodology, technical analysis, review of findings, and messaging of results. The Research Analyst has two primary functions: 1) To execute research projects and publish findings on current programs and projects; 2) To collaborate with CNT Energy Program Managers to provide research and analysis support for existing and future CNT Energy Programs. The Research Analyst will be responsible for complex technical analysis, including GIS and statistical analysis. She/he must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have excellent project management skills; (ex some projects will require immediate turn-around and others may have multi-month timelines.) The Analyst will communicate regular project/program updates and results to internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to: clients, CNT Energy Managers, local and national researchers, policy makers and the general public. The Analyst will work on teams, sometimes playing a lead role and other times a support role. Depending on the role, she/he may be responsible for project planning, managing staff, budgets, work plans, data collection, analysis and deliverables. The Research Analyst will represent CNT Energy with clients and with local and national energy efficiency stakeholders, through speaking engagements and publications.
Organization Description
CNT Energy is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide economic and environmental benefits to households, building owners and communities through energy efficiency and conservation. CNT Energy is experiencing rapid growth in three main areas:
(1) Residential Real-Time Electricity Pricing and Smart Grid Development, (2) Energy Efficiency in Residential and Commercial Buildings, and (3) Community Energy Planning and Energy Information Center.
CNT Energy is an affiliate of the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT), a 34-year old nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the development and perpetuation of vibrant urban communities that are both environmentally and economically sustainable, both in the Chicago region and throughout the United States.
Accountability
The Research Analyst will work across program areas and will report to the Research Director at CNT Energy. He/she will serve as project lead on some projects, and as a member of a team led by other CNT Energy Research, Management or Program staff.
