Position Description
Green Mountain Farm-to-School seeks a dynamic, mission-driven food systems professional with strong project management skills and culinary experience to support the growth of our organization. The primary responsibilities of the Mobile Farmers Market Manager are to launch, manage, and evaluate GMFTS’ new Mobile Market Project, the Lunchbox. The Lunchbox is a mobile farmer’s market and commercial kitchen, delivering meat, dairy, and produce, along with a full menu of freshly prepared foods featuring local ingredients to food desert communities in the Northeast Kingdom. The Mobile Farmers Market Manager reports to the Executive Director.
The Mobile Farmers’ Market manager will:  Coordinate product orders from local farms and food producers  Cook and prepare foods for sale through the market  Manage daily operations of the truck and ensure all policies and procedures are being followed with regard to cash handling, inventory management, supplies, and maintenance
 Design and distribute outreach and publicity materials
 Coordinate nutrition and agriculture education workshops for customers  Develop and implement new sales opportunities including special events, farm parties, and small-scale food processing  Coordinate with partners to support the project
 Develop and implement evaluation tools; collect, analyze, and report data for program evaluation  Assist in grant reporting
 Provide general support to organization, as necessary
Qualifications
 A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
 Knowledge of local food systems and sustainable agriculture
 Excellent communication and customer service skills
 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
 Retail management and/or restaurant experience
 Food handling/health certification a plus
 Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing non-profit environment
 Valid driver’s license
Compensation: This is an 18-month, part-time (10-20 hr/week), grant-funded position with possible extension. $18/hour.
