Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.

Responsibilities:

Our Fort Collins office is seeking a mid-level ecologist. This is an opportunity to be involved with a wide variety of projects, from assisting clients in evaluating project concepts to end-of-lifecycle facility decommissioning. Work may include project ecological impacts and consequences assessments, habitat restoration, and wetland characterizations.

Potential candidates should be ready for a challenging career that may include regional and national travel, with assignments that may include extended work schedules (e.g., 10 days on, 4 days off), and work days that can average 10+ hours per day during peak demand. The mid-level ecologist will lead and coordinate junior staff in identifying and delineating streams and wetlands, participating in threatened and endangered species surveys, preparing restoration plans, performing mitigation monitoring on restored natural features, project permitting, and generally assisting our clients in pursuing environmental stewardship.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or Natural Resource Management required; Master's degree in Natural Resources, Biology, Forestry or similar.
  • Ten years of experience performing a combination of ecological restoration studies, wetland delineations, NEPA and USACE/401 permitting, etc.
  • Experience working with NRCS, NPS, NRC and USDA
  • Specific experience conducting wetland, vegetation and rare plant surveys, restoration planning and erosion assessment, technical report writing, project coordination and agency consultation on large scale pipeline, mining and transmission projects.
  • Proficiency with MicroSoft Office software.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Prior to employment, this position will require the successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
