Stantec’s Environmental Services supports our clients in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Power & Energy, Oil Sands, and Mining from the planning stage of a project through to decommissioning and reclamation of the property. Our staff includes professionals in the fields of biophysical sciences, water resources, physical sciences, and GIS. Our Calgary office is currently seeking an Environmental Assessment Consultant/Project Manager that can guide clients through the applicable regulatory processes (e.g. CEAA, NEB, BCEAA). These positions require experience managing multi-disciplinary environmental assessments, working with regulators, and the ability to find solutions for our clients. This is a unique opportunity as we have in-house technical teams for all components required for an environmental assessment.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Project Management Providing direction on technical work programs
  • Assist with proposal development, including the development of work plans and budgets
  • Client management
  • Senior review of technical reports
  • Participation in training programs for our technical team
  • Mentoring and coaching of junior and intermediate staff
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Post-graduate degree or a B.Sc. with strong relevant experience
  • Minimum of 8 years experience
  • Registered or ability to be registered with a relevant professional organization
  • Demonstrated environmental assessment experience on major projects
  • Leadership skills and willingness to coach and mentor staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
