The Wilderness Society, a national nonprofit membership organization devoted to preserving wilderness and wildlife, seeks a creative and skilled Senior Director, Membership & Advocate Giving to join its Development team. The position is fast-paced and challenging and offers a wealth of opportunity to the right individual to exercise leadership, experience and creativity. The Senior Director, Membership and Advocate Giving is responsible for building and supporting on of The Wilderness Society's largest group of financial contributors (150,000+ donors contributing up to $9,999 each). The Membership and Advocate Giving program generates $6-7 million annually in unrestricted revenue and provides a base on which other development program revenues are built. Through direct mail, telemarketing, online strategies, and list rental marketing, the Senior Director is responsible for aggressive acquisition, renewal, and upgrade goals. Additionally, the Senior Directors efforts also contribute to gift planning lead generation and community building for our advocacy efforts. Key areas of strategic growth for the Membership and Advocates Giving program include: increasing the number of Advocates who give $1,000 - $9,999; online fundraising to include cultivation strategies and integration with direct mail efforts, and ongoing growth of net revenue. The Senior Directors role will support a myriad of needs: to inform, advise and persuade donors and members; to inform, coordinate and integrate staff and other units within The Wilderness Society to work together; and to inform, advise, negotiate, and continually evaluate the effectiveness of external vendors. The Senior Director will also produce detailed analysis of all direct response programs and will work closely with The Wilderness Society's Membership Services Team responsible for income processing and all customer service requests for Membership and Advocates.
