Job Description: 

Clean Water Fund and Clean Water Action in Michigan will be hiring a Lake St. Clair Program Director to help develop and implement the organization’s Lake St. Clair initiative. We seek an energetic and experienced organizer who will work within a leadership team to spearhead this program. 

The Lake St. Clair Program Director will:

  • Design and implement a stormwater education program and spearhead related Lake St. Clair program activities
  • Recruit, train, and lead our Lake St. Clair volunteer team
  • Make public presentations to members and community groups and successfully engage participants in program activities
  • Help fundraise to support the Lake St. Clair program

Clean Water Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization providing research, education, organizing, and technical assistance to strengthen grassroots environmental efforts. Clean Water Fund’s work complements that of Clean Water Action, a 501(c)(4) national organization with more than 250,000 Michigan members.

Qualifications: 
  •  A minimum of three years of successful organizing experience
  • A minimum of one year experience leading an environmental campaign
  • Background in stormwater education/management and/or other water quality issues preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience preparing and delivering public presentations and writing emails, fact sheets, web content, etc.
  • Ability to articulate campaign messages to the media
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Research and strong critical thinking skills; computer skills; experience working with the VAN
  • Well-organized and self-motivated
  • Must be willing to travel within Michigan
  • Flexible work schedule
