Strong communication (e.g., directing phone queries, addressing requests of visitors, etc.) and computer skills (e.g., formatting in a report template, formatting power point presentations), detailed oriented and organized (e.g., planning complicated, multi-city travel arrangements; arranging meeting logistics including hotel rooms, meeting rooms, catering, travel for guests, etc.), flexible (e.g., travel that needs to be arranged for the next day so other projects must be dropped), open to the mundane (e.g., copying, ordering supplies, filling toner cartridges, etc.), willing to be the first-line of requests by program staff for all types of help (i.e., “jack-of-all trades”), and sense of humor (e.g., doesn't mind copying, sorting mail, ordering supplies, etc.). NESCAUM is a nonprofit association of the state air pollution control agencies in the six New England states, New York and New Jersey. NESCAUM provides technical and policy assistance to its members on air pollution, climate, and energy issues of concern in the Northeast and represents the states in regional, national and international forums. NESCAUM is managed by a Board of Directors composed of the lead air quality officials in its eight member states, and has a staff of approximately 20 professionals with expertise in science, technology and policy. Starting salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer a generous benefit package and a stimulating work environment.
