Responsibilities:

Stantec has an active Urban Land Engineering group that provides services to local municipalities and the land development industry in the Greater National Capital region and beyond. Specific work areas include storm/sanitary sewers, watermains, roadworks and drainage works. An opportunity exists in our Ottawa office for an Inspector (3 month contract) to become part of our dynamic Urban Land Engineering team. Local (regional) travel is expected. Specific duties include:

  • Inspection of civil construction installations, layout, and design
  • Preparing and assisting with the preparation of daily/weekly work plans and budgets for proposals
  • General site contract administration including daily and weekly reports, quantities and compiling draft payment certificates
  • Coordinating with Stantec design teams, contractors, developers and the general public
  • Assisting with the coordination and work of projects relating to urban land engineering services
  • Conducting and assisting with site surveying and/or inspection activities
Qualifications:

As the ideal candidate you;

  • have completed a minimum 2 years of a civil engineering program from an accredited institution
  • possess 2 to 3 years experience with construction and inspection activities
  • have excellent communication skills, flexiblibility, valid drivers license and available transportation for travel purposes
  • enjoy field work, demonstrate problem-solving abilities along with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is priority one
