Overview: Stantec’s Atmospheric Environment group is dedicated to helping our clients manage air quality, noise, and climate change issues professionally and proactively. Our professional engineers and scientists provide specialized services to a wide variety of sectors including industry, government, architecture, transportation and land-use planning. We offer a full suite of services including design and permitting, monitoring programs, predictive modeling, air emissions abatement as well as planning and policy studies.
Stantec is One Team providing Infinite Solutions. Responsibilities:We have an immediate opening for a Junior Air Quality & Acoustics Engineer /Scientist to join our team in our Burlington, Markham or Kitchener Ontario offices.
Responsibilities may include:
• Field Monitoring • Data Analysis • Regulatory and Literature Review • Predictive Modeling • Report Writing Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Meteorology, or Physical Sciences • A Master’s degree in Engineering, Meteorology, or Physical Sciences would be an asset • 1-2 years of experience would be considered an asset • Obtained or eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Ontario or equivalent would be desirable • Excellent quantitative and computer skills • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and in a multi-disciplinary team • A valid driver’s license is required • Familiarity with the principles of air quality and/or acoustics is desirable • Experience conducting field monitoring would be an asset • Experience with programming, numerical modelling, and statistical analysis would be an asset • Enthusiastic personality with a keen interest in natural sciences and a desire for learning new skills to advance their career. • Excellent quantitative and computer skills • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and in a multi-disciplinary team • A valid driver’s license is required • Familiarity with the principles of air quality and/or acoustics is desirable • Experience conducting field monitoring would be an asset • Experience with programming, numerical modeling, and statistical analysis would be an asset • Enthusiastic personality with a keen interest in natural sciences and a desire for learning new skills to advance their career. |
