Overview: Our Buildings Engineering group specializes in the design and development processes unique to buildings. Working closely with our clients, our dedicated professionals help to establish and understand the specific needs of a range of building projects. For both public and private sector clients, we provide unique plan checking capabilities as well as energy engineering and performance engineering services, covering each of the major engineering disciplines—structural, mechanical, and electrical. In addition, we bring together innovative and functional design solutions for companies involved in the discovery, research and development, and commercial scale manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical device products. Focused on providing cost-effective solutions to engineering challenges, we are involved in a diverse range of projects from the initial planning stages to design, construction, and commissioning. Our structure cultivates career growth and provides opportunities as unique as you are. Responsibilities: - Leads development of process design deliverables on biopharm projects. Provides oversight for junior engineers.
- Coordinates design efforts with other engineering disciplines and functions as overall design lead and coordinator on large projects.
- Develops design deliverables for biopharm process projects, including PFDs, P&IDs, specifications, datasheets and process studies.
- Ability to work with process simulation to optimize process design
- Develops mathematical models of process designs, including cost of goods models.
- Investigates field conditions in existing plants and projects and collects data to enable accurate design development.
- Provides support to sales and marketing efforts through client presentations and proposal preparation.
- Resolves project problems and insures project quality standards are met.
Qualifications: - Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, chemical or biochemical engineering. Masters degree preferred.
- Extensive experience with fermentation, cell culture, downstream unit operations including chromatography and TFF operations is required. Critical utility experience is required.
- Strong client relationship and leadership skills.
- Excellent computer and data management skills, including programming to support process simulation efforts. Hands on experience with at least one commercial process simulation package is required.
- At least 12 years of relevant biopharm industry experience, at least 8 of which must be in the consulting engineering business.
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge of US cGMP requirements.
Approximately 25% travel required.
