Job Description: 

Green For All is a national organization dedicated to building an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Green for All advocates for local, state and federal policies and funding for quality job creation, training, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the emerging green economy. 

Green for All is developing a national network to engage people from every sector of society in (1) collaborating to build a green economy that works for all by sharing innovation, best practices, and relationships to (2) advance major policy initiatives that fight both poverty and pollution at the same time.

Position Summary: 
The National Campaign Director is directly responsible for developing and implementing the campaign strategy of Green For All, including building partnerships and political relationships, and winning national and local legislative campaigns.

Successful candidates will be values driven, self-motivated, detail oriented, resourceful, and have experience in campaigns, advocacy and organizing. They will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability to shifting priorities, a keen sense of urgency, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities: 

Campaigns

  • Create and implement campaign plans to win political and policy victories aligned with Green For All’s agenda. 
  • Arrange special events that move the organization’s campaigns and political objectives forward.
  • Identify and build on the synergies created by Green For All’s communications efforts, engagement campaigns and its local, state and national policy work.

Coalition-Building 

  • Implement effective collaboration with public influencers.
  • Initiate and cultivate alliances, partnerships and other organizational relationships that support Green For All’s campaigns.
  • Speak for and represent Green For All and its initiatives in a wide variety of events and meetings. 
  • Create programs to support the capacity of partner organizations, including training leaders and developing materials (e.g. campaign plans) to support their efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead cross departmental campaign teams.
  • Develop and manage a budget that includes campaigns, events, staff and operations; ensure most effective use of resources.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to create campaign strategies to support their goals.

Other duties as needed and assigned.


Experience & Qualifications: 
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university with a related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in campaigns and/or advocacy in one or (preferably) more of the following areas: energy, environment, economic development, labor relations, workforce development, and anti-poverty.
  • Experience building and managing high level relationships. 
  • A history of developing and implementing successful policy and advocacy campaigns. In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local politics. 
  • Management skills and experience.
  • Success in working with different constituencies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Availability on nights and weekends if necessary.
  • Organized and flexible.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Proven capacity to work independently and also to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
  • Commitment to the goals of Green For All.


Start Date: As soon as possible. 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, Excellent benefits package.
