Job Description: 

LCV is seeking a Latino Outreach Program Director to build partnerships with Latino advocacy groups at the state and national level, and elevate the environment as a priority issue within the Latino community. This exciting new position offers the opportunity to educate and engage the fastest growing constituency in the country through environmental policies and campaigns.

 

  • Build partnerships with national Latino and Hispanic groups by elevating the environment as important issues in LCV’s legislative, civic engagement and political programs.
  • Support and initiate collaborations between state-level Latino groups and LCV, including our state LCV partners.
  • Work with LCV’s National Campaigns team to develop national and state-level program to build awareness and engagement of the Latino community on environmental issues, and to increase their participation in elections.
  • Fundraise for the program including submitting grant proposals to foundations and individual donors.
  • Oversee message development and research on Latino attitudes on environmental issues. Conduct interviews with the media on our work and issue priorities.
  • Work with the National Field team, state LCVs and partner groups to develop programs that engage and train Latino activists around environmental issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

  • Education: College degree required.
  • Work experience: At least five years campaign experience including program development, management, fundraising and outreach. Ideal candidates will have experience working with or within the Latino community.
  • Skills: Strong campaign skills, including identifying strategic opportunities; good writing skills; fluent in English and Spanish; very well organized; works well in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task without sacrificing quality of work; and interest in environmental issues and their potential to engage the Latino community.
  • Conditions: Ability to work overtime with little notice; able to work hours exceeding stated office hours to get the job done; ability and willingness to travel. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
