Overview: Our Environmental Management group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, and Information Management. We help our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, wetland characterizations, and water resources management. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career. Responsibilities:Data Collection: Assist project managers, staff scientists and senior scientists with the collection of field and written/tabular data for various types of tasks. Ecological Restoration: Includes, but not limited to, carrying out tasks related to prairie, wetland, and other natural community restoration and management. Specific job tasks include application of various herbicides, mowing, installation of native seeds and plants, prescribed burning, and brush/tree removal. Equipment operations may include chainsaws, backpack herbicide sprayers, ATV, and tractor with various attachments. Qualifications:Required - US citizen or permanent US residency - Valid state driver's license - Ability to walk 2-4 miles per day in rough terrain and lift up to 50 lbs; and - Ability to obtain WI and MN Pesticide Operators license within one month Preferred - Valid Class A Commercial driver's license - Undergraduate or Associates Degree in an environmental discipline - Possess a MN Pesticide Operators license; and - Previous prescribed burn experience with S130 & S190 NWCG training courses |
