Job Description: 

The Marine Coordinator will provide administrative, logistical, and technical support functions for the Hawaii Fish Trust Program (HFT) and Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) Program. The Coordinator will track grants and contracts including monitoring grant and overall program budgets. This person will organize meetings, community events, and travel. This person will be responsible for updating the program website and creating other communication pieces.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grants management and budget compliance and tracking: Draft and manage grants to external partners, ensuring compliance and reporting with CI policy.  Provide monthly reporting on actual spending vs. budget and assist in annual budget planning.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the HFT and CTI programs: organize meetings and workshop; arrange travel; prepare presentations; maintain Hawaii Fish Trust records and documents; assist other team members with logistical arrangements
  • Liaise with Global Marine Division and other Conservation International Operations staff to stay current on policies and procedures that will impact the HFT and CTI programs.

 

Working conditions:

  • This position is based in Honolulu, HI

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in administrative support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, MSWord and Power Point
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks and short deadlines
  • Proficiency in writing and editing reports and documents
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 – 2 years Grants management experience
  • 1 – 2 years nonprofit experience
  • Basic website editing and desktop publishing
  • Interest in Hawaii's marine environments
