Job Description: 

Location: Lincoln, MA

 

Mass Audubon is looking for a skilled and creative self-starter to manage and grow our Internet presence. Besides managing day-to-day content, the incumbent will be responsible for the on-going management of Convio® e-mail marketing and eCommerce systems and for bringing our current website to the next level. This position is an integral member of the Marketing/IT web team, works closely with the Marketing Department’s Internet Marketing Manger, and reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Principal Responsibilities: Play a primary role in a major website rebuild project scheduled to start in late spring. Manage construction, day-to-day operations, and content of Mass Audubon’s website. Ensure up-to-date content at all times. Facilitate electronic communications such as our 30+ monthly or bi-monthly e-newsletters. Stay abreast of advances in web and digital imaging technologies and find innovative ways of incorporating new technologies into our Internet strategy. Make recommendations to the Director of Information Technology regarding resource requirements of all Internet initiatives. Besides the website rebuild, short and long-term projects include:

  • Revamping our Convio-based electronic communications tools with an eye toward more effective communications and ease of use.
  • Assisting Marketing in providing training and support to Convio users in online engagement best practices
  • Evaluating and installing an electronic gift matching system.
  • Taking charge of our image organization project using Extensis Server.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is required, along with 3-5 years’ experience managing content and production for high traffic websites. Broad-based experience and interest in Internet technologies, including blogs, social networking, and e-communications. Thorough knowledge of hand-coded HTML and JavaScript and web programming for database access using PHP or similar. Online graphic design and use of CSS for content creation and optimization. Experience with Convio or other major third party online donations and email blasting services is preferred. Ability to work both in teams and independently and to train people of varying skill levels in the use of Internet content technologies. Strong attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines, self motivated and mission oriented. Ability to relate to a diverse range of people and exercise cultural competence and inclusion. Requires successful completion of CORI, SORI, and driver record check.
