Responsibilities:An opportunity exists for an Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Machine Design Engineer or Technologist in our Dartmouth office with broad technical knowledge and the ability to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will direct technical support and CAD team members, as well as ensure that client needs and project manager requirements are met in a timely and effective manner. Specific duties will include:
Project Management and leadership opportunities also exist for qualified candidates. Qualifications:As the ideal candidate, you have a minimum of 5 years experience in the design of machinery components and systems along with professional accreditation (or eligibility for accreditation) with Engineers NS or TechNova. Of value in this position would be experience with manufacturing environments and associated design issues related to reliability, ergonomics, flexible operations, rapid changeover and safety. Knowledge and experience working with GD&T, pneumatics, design for manufacturability, ANSI & ISO drawing practices, construction review and assistance, and technical writing in the form of reports and proposals would be an asset. Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D parametric modeling software, word processing and spreadsheet computer programs is a requirement. Experience in SolidWorks and/or Inventor would be a definite asset. You are a self-motivated individual possessing strong written and verbal communication skills along with previous experience in the manufacturing industry.
