Overview: Our multidisciplinary Urban Development team brings specialized talents, industry knowledge, and professional experience to maximize the potential of each clients' project. We offer interdisciplinary services in land planning, landscape architecture, and engineering as well as project management, construction observation, and contract administration. Combined with the vast number of services Stantec offers overall, Urban Development is a dynamic group serving a wide variety of public and private clients. An opportunity exists in our Mississauga, ON for a highly motivated Intermediate Contract Administrator to become part of a dynamic Urban Development Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of the contract administration and the construction inspection component of commercial and/or residential development projects. Your primary duties encompass tasks related to monitoring construction progress. You will expedite aspects of the development process from the contract preparation and tendering of work, and undertake monitoring of site earthworks, installation of municipal services and roads. Other tasks include payment certification, change order processing, record keeping, and preparation of various documents required for the development construction process. In this role you will be focusing on projects in Halton Region, primarily Milton, Oakville. Qualifications:Ideally you are a Civil Engineer or Technologist with 5+ years post graduate field experience in the Land development and consulting industry. As the ideal candidate, you possess a solid background in construction inspection and contract administration, and an excellent eye for detail. You are knowledgeable in performance standards and have experience in engineering drawing ‘quality assurance’ reviews. You are proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel. You possess a prove ability to work with minimal supervision on a variety of projects simultaneously. Your demonstrated ability to lead junior staff and deal with Clients, Contractors, and Municipal personnel effectively, combined with your flexible approach to work assignments, are paramount to this position. A high degree of problem solving and decision making skills is essential. You are self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
