The Earth Advantage Institute Technical Consultant is responsible for visiting construction sites in order to inspect structural and mechanical features of new homes that affect environmental performance. These inspections involve using diagnostic equipment including a blower door and a duct blaster. Assessed data must be logged into a point sheet for use in preparation of a final certificate of compliance. There will be times this position will require moving through the under floor crawlspace or in the attic. With that in mind, safety must be a priority. This person must be able to follow directions, be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs and be able to use a 6‐foot step ladder safely. We anticipate this position to be working 40 hours per week. Required qualifications: Lift 50‐60 lbs at any given time Supply vehicle to and from job site and other assigned duties Valid auto insurance and driver’s license. Clean driving record. Computer skill set – Microsoft Office Interact and communicate with confidence in the green building field (with general contractors and superintendents). High School Diploma or GED Must pass pre‐employment drug screen and background check Must work well in a multi‐tasking, fast‐paced, dynamic environment Show superior customer service and communication skills Daily requirements: New House plan reviews Residential dwelling inspections Duct blast testing Blower door testing Report and objectively interpret data Knowledge of the following: Whole house diagnostic Indoor air quality Thermal Envelope Mold & Moisture Analysis Occupant / Structural interaction Recommend mitigation options Comprehensive HVAC systems diagnostic Use of additional scientific testing instruments Research up‐to‐date energy concepts Design and implement advance projects Preferred experience/knowledge: Ongoing related education as required Membership in Professional Organizations Proficiency in residential design/construction Proficiency in alternative energy technologies Environmental/Sustainable stewardship knowledge Residential customer training of energy education Residential contractor training of energy education SalesForce CRM database How to Apply Please submit the following materials to apply for this position (PDF or Word format only): Resume Cover letter detailing qualifications, suitability for this position, and salary requirements.
