Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . Stantec has an opening for an Environmental Scientist.
This position can be located in Green Bay, Mequon or Cottage Grove, WI.
Responsibilities of this position should include performing project management and environmental consulting services for a variety of environmental and engineering projects for a variety of clients (including industrial/manufacturing companies); mentoring less experienced staff; client management services for existing clients; and sales of additional Stantec services to existing and new clients. Successful candidates will possess advanced technical skills, knowledge, effective oral and written communication skills including presentation, and public speaking skills.
Candidates should have knowledge in and experience with federal, state and local regulations affecting industrial and manufacturing facilities, including the following areas: CAA, CWA, SARA/EPCRA, RCRA, and others. Candidates should have a strong technical background in the CAA and Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 400 series; thus the ability to complete air emissions evaluations and permitting projects is required, and a background and ability in air modeling is a definite plus. In addition, candidates should be capable of leading multi-media environmental compliance audits at industrial/manufacturing facilities.Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or other technical field, and have a minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in environmental/ industrial applications and direct client work. Prior consulting experience is highly preferred.
Candidate will need ability to work as a member of a team and also independently. Thus, position requires outstanding communication skills for both internal and external contacts. Since this is a senior position, a high level of detail is needed; will likely perform QA/QC of others work, and also provide mentoring of younger staff.
