We collaborate on developing innovative solutions for complex projects in the areas of advanced water and wastewater process design, water supply, conveyance, pumping, and storage.
We have an opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer within our New England Water Group to take responsible charge of power and instrumentation design. This individual can choose an office location of their choice from several options, namely: Boston, MA; Westford, MA; Northampton, MA; Auburn, NH; Scarborough, ME; Topsham, ME; S. Burlington, VT; Hartford, CT or Hamden, CT. This position allows for excellent opportunities for advancement within Stantec. Responsibilities:• Load calculations for generators, transformers, switchgear, MCC's, panel boards, VFD's, UPS, UCP and branch circuits • Complete electrical designs including lighting, power, single line diagrams, electrical room layout, cable, conduit and panel sizing • Generate design data to produce P&ID's • Performing short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies using power analysis software • Coordinating with the client, utilities, fire marshal and code enforcement officers • Integration of control logic, structured cabling, local and wide area networks, access control systems, CCTV Systems and fire detection systems into complete SCADA designs. • Development of project specifications and drawings • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering • 10-15 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater industry • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer, by successful completion of the NCEES Electrical Engineering Practice Examination is required. If you are not registered in all six New England states, the ability to obtain registration through reciprocity within six months of hire is required • Proficient in the low and medium voltage electrical distribution designs • Fully knowledgeable of NEC and applicable NFPA code requirements • Proven experience with SCADA implementation |
