We provide career opportunities as unique as you are. Responsibilities: We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer available immediately in Calgary, Alberta. Duties include, but not limited to: - Client communication
- Development of DBM, Scoping documents, Framing documents
- Development of man-hour estimates & project cost estimates
- Outlining schedules: Project life cycle, Engineering, Construction, other
- Coordination of supporting disciplines for project needs: Process Eng., Mechanical Eng., E&I, Design, Project Controls, Document Services/Controls
- Coordination of key meetings or review points: scope review, engineering/design review, P&ID review, controls review, HAZOP, construction review, construction kick-off, etc.
- Procurement: vendor selection, prepare and issue request for quotations, vendor bid evaluations and selection, equipment purchase (PO, or Draft PO, or by customer)
- Management of Project Cost Control, budget vs. actual
- Customer status reporting
- O&M and project data books coordination
- Coordination of regulatory submissions: ABSA, AEUB, other
- Other general project support tasks to complete work, including customer specific requirements
- Review of project documentation prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy
- Review of specifications, PFD/P&ID drawings, designs, line/tie-in/equipment lists etc. for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure codes and standards (both legislated and customer-specific) are being met
- Identifying and defining equipment requirements
Qualifications: - 4 – 10 years experience working with operating facilities, owner organizations, and/or EPCM firms
- Engineering or Project Management experience within SAGD, conventional oil and/or natural gas facilities
- Bachelor degree in Process, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering
- P.Eng. or E.I.T. designation with APEGGA
- Knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards (Z662, B31.3, ERCB Directives, OH&S)
- Excellence in communication: written, spoken, and interpersonal
- Excellence in organizational skills: computer literacy, time management, project planning and project deliverables
- Excellence in Project Management: Scope, Cost Control, Delivery
- Sound understanding of engineering principles
- Ability to multitask, in both capacities of handling multiple jobs/projects, and be able to carry out multiple tasks and scalability within each project
- Must be a self starter and motivated
- Must be growth orientated (both personal, and company growth focused)
- Should be willing to be mentored
- Should approach things in a positive manner and willing to work as part of a team
- Should be willing to travel from time to time (1 to 3 day trips/month)
- Should be willing to invest additional time on occasion as project/workload dictates
- Should have some skills developed that are ready for use at some level immediately
- Understand consulting business drivers and business model
- Willingness to adjust and work in a growing organization
- Good understanding of project and business economics
