Stantec's Environmental Remediation group is dedicated to helping our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic Remediation team in our Burnaby office. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities. You are a self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills and are willing to work in a team environment. Your strong project management skills are essential for you to meet the expectations of this challenging position.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior guidance and review on project deliverables
  • Manage clients in various sectors, ranging from oil and gas to government, insurance and commercial real estate
  • Leverage and manage industry relationships in the local market to identify opportunities and work with senior leadership to develop future business
  • Mentoring and training staff
  • Work with senior management to determine the future direction of the practice
Qualifications:
  • Degree (Masters degree preferred) in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of related experience (e.g., BC contaminated sites regulations and legislation, client relationship management)
  • Eligibility for professional registration with APEGBC or equivalent professional associations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A keen understanding of the local market is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the various provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
