Job Description: 

JDM Associates – an energy management and sustainability consulting firm specializing in real estate, located in Falls Church, VA – is seeking several highly-motivated, team-oriented professionals to provide sustainability and energy efficiency consulting services to commercial building owners and operators. JDM consultants review our clients’ properties, including office buildings and multifamily communities, to identify opportunities for enhancing sustainability and reducing natural resource consumption. Consultants then support clients to implement recommended improvements and analyze the results in terms of cost savings, energy use reductions, and other metrics.

 

The LEED Consultant will have proven experience managing the entire LEED certification process, focusing on new multifamily projects and existing office buildings. This individual will be able to communicate confidently and articulately with architects, contractors, and engineers to direct and guide them through the LEED certification process and achieve targeted certification levels. The LEED Accredited Professional designation is required.

 

Minimum requirements for all positions include:

  • At least four years of related professional experience (a wide range of experience levels will be considered)
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • Proven analytical skills, including critical thinking, problem solving, and numerical reasoning
  • Strong technical aptitude (a background in engineering or building science is preferred)
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and professional demeanor appropriate for work with corporate clients and team members
  • Ability to articulate clear, persuasive messages to diverse audiences
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Proficient computer abilities, particularly with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to closely track projects and tasks to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of high-quality deliverables
  • Knowledge of sustainability topics specific to the real estate industry, primarily energy and water efficiency
  • Experience with green building strategies and technologies for both existing buildings and new construction
  • Knowledge and understanding of real estate and building operations
  • A commitment to protecting the environment, with the ability and persistence to “sell” others on the value of sustainability
