| Job Description: |
The Ohio State Director is responsible for representing TPL and carrying out the mission of the organization in an effective, visionary and financially sound way. This position manages and mentors the transaction and program teams and administrative staff and works in close cooperation with the State Director of Philanthropy. The Ohio Advisory Board advises the Director, who is responsible for its cultivation and growth. S/he is responsible for the vision and strategic direction of the Office; oversight of state and local government relations; public finance strategies and implementation; coordination of the acquisition of real estate for conservation purposes in the state and its conveyance to public agencies or other nonprofit organizations. This position will develop and maintain relationships for the benefit of TPL with state leaders in philanthropic institutions and individuals; government; land and resource-related businesses; the environmental/conservation communities and the media. The Director has the primary responsibility for the coordination of marketing TPL and prospecting for new programmatic investments and philanthropic opportunities.
