Responsibilities:

The Winnipeg office is a well-established and well run team of professionals focused on the buildings practice, water, infrastructure and transportation engineering and environmental services. Currently we have an opportunity for an Intermediate Level Electrical Engineer with a buildings focus to work with a growing, multi-disciplinary practice in both public and private buildings projects ranging from educational to healthcare and commercial buildings.

The right candidate will have a well-rounded combination of technical design skills in the area of building services projects and an excellent client management ability particularly in your collaboration with Architects and multi-disciplinary design teams, to deliver innovative and cost effective design solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Participation in studies and assessments
  • Preparation of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Multi-disciplinary coordination and client/project design team consultation
  • Engineering supervision during construction
Qualifications:

The successful candidates should possess:

  • B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in design and construction administration of buildings projects such as educational, healthcare and commercial facilities; those individuals who are experienced Electrical Engineering Technologists with several years of experience in design and contract administration of buildings electrical systems may also be considered
  • Green building design knowledge and strategies are an asset
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Building Code of Canada is expected
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit are beneficial; Microsoft Word, Excel proficiency; experience using lighting and power system modeling software a definite asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a “team player” approach to design and problem solving; Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must
