Responsibilities:

Stantec's office in St. John’s, NF is currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer. If you are an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail, then we have a dynamic work environment where you can play a pivotal role in a diverse range of building projects, from initial planning to design to construction to ongoing operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities include the design of electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, public and private facilities including:

  • Power distribution, essential power systems including generators and UPS, Substations, transformers, metering, primary and secondary switchgear, motor control and motor control centres
  • Life Safety including Fire Alarm system design
  • Lighting, Lighting Control systems and Roadway Lighting
  • Structured data cabling, communications, security, energy management, Nurse Call system design
  • Mechanical equipment control design
  • Providing technical support to the project managers.
Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate should possess a University Degree in Electrical Engineering, and be a Professional Engineer registered with a Professional Engineering Association.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical Design.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, CEC, NBC, CSA, ULC
  • Previous experience with engineering software applications such as ETAP, AGI 32 and other tools will be a definite asset.
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs will be beneficial in this role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a strong attention to detail are essential.
