Job Description:  Overview:

Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, water resources management, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, information management, environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services . We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include: GIS data creation and management, field data collection, and supportive mapping data and analysis upon request; land surveying and mapping work to include field and office activities.

 

Duties Include:

  • Field collection of GIS data and management of GIS equipment, software, data, and products
  • Assists in the design, development and creation of GIS databases, maps and other related projects
  • Performing land surveying related activities in the field and office which may include control surveys, topographic mapping, boundary surveying, legal descriptions, parcel maps, subdivision plats and construction staking.
  • Task management (able to accept a project tasks independently and in a team work environment, design methodology to complete project, and produce final product(s))
  • Related duties assigned by the Project Manage or Supervisor
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in GIS or mapping related field such as Geomatics, Geography, Cartography, Natural Resources, Computer Science, Planning, Environment Science, or 4 years of equivalent work based experience. 

  • Current Texas license as Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
  • Minimum 5 years experience performing land surveying and mapping activities.
  • Minimum 1 year experience using ArcGIS Knowledge in ArcInfo, Spatial Anlayst, geodatabases and ArcView desirable.
  • Familiarity with surveying and GIS applications in gas pipeline a plus.
  • Fundamental knowledge and skill in the operation of GIS equipment, including computer hardware, plotter/printer setup, GPS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to complete short-term projects with tight deadlines
  • Desire to learn new skills related to GIS development including computer hardware, software, extensions.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, associates, clients and the general public.
